Assistant Director of Admissions

    The Archer School for Girls is seeking an Assistant Director of Admissions. This individual is part of an energetic, dynamic and mission-driven team that plays a key role in shaping first impressions and the ongoing experiences of families throughout the admissions process. The Assistant Director is responsible for overseeing the student ambassador program including training and developing the forward-facing student representatives of the School. The Assistant Director serves as the event manager for all admissions events including planning and execution. The Assistant Director conducts applications interviews. Ideally, this individual is also fluent in Spanish, both oral and written, and could be a liaison for families whose preferred language is Spanish. The Assistant Director is an essential partner to the Director of Admissions.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    • Recruit, train, and oversee parent and student volunteers for campus tours and admissions events.
    • Interview applicant families while serving as a brand ambassador and representative.
    • Manage all admissions events, including limited evenings and weekends, plus assist with and attend some schoolwide events.
    • Serve as a key point of contact for prospective families. Manage all aspects of the admission process, from initial inquiry through enrollment, ensuring prospective students and parents are thoughtfully supported through the admissions process in a professional, helpful, and efficient way.
    • Participate in admissions committees with a focus on building a mission-aligned, diverse student body.
    • Ideally, serve as lead communicator to Spanish speaking prospective families through phone calls, emails and in-person conversations. 
    • Assist in the management of marketing, including website updates.
    • Effectively utilize the department’s database system, SchoolAdmin, for prospective family relationship management, process organization, and maintenance of online applications and electronic files. 

    Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

    • Self-starter with an entrepreneurial spirit; ability to work independently and as part of a team; flexibility regarding responsibilities; perform outstanding customer service at all times.
    • Able to analyze problems and devise appropriate solutions, prioritize, work within tight deadlines, and exercise good judgment.
    • Superior interpersonal skills
    • Superior organizational, time management, oral and written communication skills
    • Extreme attention to detail and accuracy, strong presentation skills
    • A good sense of humor, enthusiasm for a high-energy work environment, and collegial manner
    • Warm demeanor and comfort speaking professionally to students and their parents.
    • High level of diplomacy and discretion when dealing with sensitive information
    • Computer fluency/expertise and strong database skills (Excel, Google Drive, PowerPoint, In Design, Keynote)

    Education and/or Experience        

    • Bachelor’s degree required.
    • At least five years of experience at an independent school is desirable.
    • Admissions or marketing experience would be optimal.

    Salary range: $33.66 - $43.27 per hour (depending on qualifications and experience)
