    Redwood Day is a vibrant K-8 school with students, faculty and staff all learning together on our four-acre campus in the heart of Oakland.     Job Description and Desired Qualifications

    The Director of Admissions manages enrollment and admissions and represents Redwood Day in all interactions with prospective families and students. The Director connects all areas of enrollment management through collaborative work with colleagues. The Director is an experienced and polished public speaker who can readily convey the distinguishing elements of a Redwood Day education. They oversee all aspects of the admissions processes, including enrollment strategy, tours, open houses, special events, assessments, orientations, and summer buddies for newly enrolled students. The Director also oversees all admissions committees and admissions volunteers. They supervise an Associate Director of Admissions/Director of Tuition Assistance, a seasonal/part-time Admissions Associate, and work collaboratively with the Head of School and Chief Financial and Operations Officer on all strategic and budgetary priorities related to enrollment and retention.

     

    This is a full-time position, The peak admissions season runs from October 1- April 1; during this time, the Director of Admissions can expect to work some evenings and weekends in addition to the regular work week.

    Essential Requirements:

              Bachelor’s Degree required; Master’s Degree preferred

              3-5 years’ experience in the admissions field; preferably in a K-8 or K-12 independent school environment

              Outstanding written and oral communication skills including  significant experience with public speaking

              Demonstrated proficiency with admission software (we currently use SchoolAdmin)

              Commitment to equity, inclusion and diversity; demonstrated success in enrolling diverse families and students

    Desired Qualifications and Traits:

              Experience with marketing and event management

              Willingness to work extended hours, including evenings and weekends

              PK-8 teaching experience

              Ability to maintain high levels of confidentiality

              Ability to engage in difficult conversations with grace

    Pay Scale:

    The anticipated salary range the school reasonably expects to pay candidates for the full-time position of Director of Admissions is between $115,000-140,000, depending on factors such as experience and education.
