    Director of Auxiliary Programs
    Salary range: $85,000 - $120,000/year

    Campbell Hall, founded in 1944 and situated on 14 naturally-wooded acres in Studio City, California, is an independent, all-gender, college preparatory, Episcopal day school for students in kindergarten through grade twelve.

    Summary:  Reporting to senior leadership, the Director of Auxiliary Programs is responsible for developing and implementing high-quality after-school and summer programs and oversight of the Campbell Hall merchandise store.  This is a management position that requires extensive planning, organization, decision-making skills and business acumen.  In addition, it requires a high level of creativity and substantive experience working with young children, adolescents, and young adults.  This is a 12-month, full-time position.

    Reports to:  CFO & Elementary Principal

    Responsibilities:

    • Develop, schedule, and implement all after-school childcare and enrichment programs for the academic school year, as well as spring break and summer camp programs in accordance with Campbell Hall mission and philosophy.

    • Prepare and implement a strategic plan for all programs, including financial, marketing, and logistics, that aligns with the school’s mission and financial goals. Collaborate with division principals regarding programming for the academic year, spring break and summer.

    • In collaboration with senior leadership and the business office, develop each program’s budget; actively manage the budget to ensure revenue and expenses are properly reflected.  

    • Supervise, manage and train the childcare, after-school enrichment and spring/summer staff (hiring process, scheduling and annual evaluations).  Partner with HR to ensure timely completion of the hiring/onboarding process with new hires.  

    • Approve weekly timesheets for staff.  Manage the earnings calculation and ensure timely payment for all teachers and staff working in after-school programs. Coordinate with the Business Office regarding spring/summer director pay calculations.

    • Manage agreements and the compliance process with outside vendors prior to anyone working with students on campus.

    • Manage SchoolPass software program to track daily hours utilized by students in after-school childcare to prepare the monthly billing to families and coordinate with the Business Office to prepare monthly billing.

    • Manage CampBrain software program as the registration database for families to register for after-school, spring break and summer programs.  Communicate with parents on an as-needed basis to support enrollment, scheduling and payment collection. 

    • Plan and work with the Operations Department to reserve classrooms, athletic fields, equipment, etc. in the master calendar and with the Facilities Department to ensure spaces are prepared prior to programs and camps.  

    • Coordinate with the Operations Department and Business Office regarding the bus program. Ensure that elementary students registered for the bus are escorted to the bus each day per the schedule provided by parents. 

    • Liaise with off-campus food services (Freshlunches) regarding elementary lunch service.  Provide staff to supervise the lunch/recess period for elementary students.  Coordinate with on-campus food services to provide lunches during spring and summer programs.

    • Collaborate with the Marketing/Communications Department to develop marketing materials to promote after-school programs and spring/summer camp offerings and recruit new campers.  Prepare all written/electronic materials for after-school, spring and summer camps including program descriptions and schedules.  Monitor the school website and coordinate with the communications department to keep information about all after-school, spring break, summer programs current.

    • Collaborate with the Director of Human Resources to plan faculty/staff childcare on non-student faculty only days.

    • Prepare appropriate summary reports including audit support for the Business Office.

    • Commit to keep current on best practices and innovations in auxiliary programming.

    • Be a team player; cheerfully participate in/assist with other duties and routines as part of the school environment.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree

    • 3-5 years leadership experience (preferably in a school setting) and managing staff

    • Experience with school-aged children and young adults

    • Demonstrated organizational skills, attention to detail and ability to prioritize work

    • Demonstrated ability to work within and manage program budget

    • Self-directed individual who is solution oriented, flexible, works well with teams and individuals with a positive attitude, exceptional initiative and judgment

    • Strong marketing skills and customer-service orientation

    • Strong written and oral communication skills

    • Highly proficient in data management systems and computer applications (e.g. Google Suite, Word and particularly in Excel/Google Sheets); ability and willingness to learn additional applications, as needed

    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and be responsive to changing priorities.

    • Ability and willingness to work a flexible schedule, including occasional evenings,  and select weekends as needed and all summer program weeks.

    • Ability to solve practical problems and apply common sense in dealing with everyday and emergency situations.

    • Enthusiasm and commitment to the vision, mission and philosophy of the School.

    • Prior experience running similar programs a plus
