    Payroll Administrator

    Salary range: $65,000.00 - $80,000.00/year

    The Payroll Administrator works closely with the Human Resources team, as well as other members of the School’s eight person Business Office. 

    Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

    • Time and attendance management (250+ employees)

      • Weekly review of hourly employee punches, including coaches and substitute teachers

      • Weekly review of substitutes vs. faculty time off

      • Follow up with department supervisors regarding timesheet approvals

    • Payroll entry and processing of bi-weekly payroll using Paycom

    • Coordinate with Human Resources regarding: onboarding and offboarding, leaves of absences, benefits deductions, etc.

    • Coordinate with other business office colleagues regarding: employee reimbursements, employee tuition payments, etc.

    • Manage benefit accruals: vacation, sick, personal, etc.

    • Employee database and file maintenance

    • Provide “concierge-level” customer service to Campbell Hall employees on payroll-related items

    • Payroll journal entries

    • Audit of payroll deductions for monthly benefit billing

    • Prepare, process and ensure the accuracy of all year-end payroll requirements and distribute W-2 forms

    • Point person for industry surveys such as Cal-ISBOA, DASL, BIIS and for annual 403b retirement plan yearly testing

    • Providing reports and information to external auditors and the Accounting department as needed for audit purposes.

    Key Requirements:

    • Proven experience in payroll processing

    • Familiarity with handling basic HR-related questions

    • Knowledge of Google Suite, Microsoft Excel, and Word at an intermediate to advanced level

    • Strong understanding of California wage and hour laws

    • Excellent problem solving skills and high level of attention to detail and accuracy

    • Strong organizational skills, and ability to work under pressure  

    • Ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines

    • Strict confidentiality

    • Strong verbal and written communication skills

    • Outstanding organizational skills

    • Familiarity with ACA compliance and reporting

    Desired Skills:

    • Paycom software experience a plus

    • Blackbaud software experience a plus

    • School payroll experience, especially Independent School experience a plus

    • Bilingual a plus, but not required
