    Accounts Payable Specialist (part-time)

    Join the team at San Diego Jewish Academy as a part-time Accounts Payable Specialist (20-25 hours/week)!  You are the ideal candidate if you are a detail-oriented, reliable accounting whiz who thrives on accuracy and independence.  You’ll take charge of managing invoices, vendor accounts, disbursements, AmEx reconciliations via Concur, and consistent weekly check runs.  Plus, bring your tech-savvy skills to the table and lead us in revolutionizing our A/P processes with user-friendly technology.

    You will be kept busy with:

     Receiving, sorting, matching, and filing invoices in preparation for payment.  Auditing transactions for each receipt of materials and agreement of price, extension and terms

    • Verifying prices and quantity on vendor invoices and prepare for payment, using SAGE 100
    • Setting up new vendor accounts for all departments; keeping all vendor information remittance addresses updated
    • Conferring with vendors regarding payments and personnel regarding receipt of goods; communicating with school or department personnel regarding individual purchases and related charges
    • Reviewing vendor statements and reconciling outstanding payables
    • Managing SDJA’s AmEx corporate cards for all departments using Concur
    • Screening vendors to determine if W-9s are required; processing 1099s at the end of each year
    • Assisting with annual audit preparation
    • Processing bank deposits
    • Perform other duties and projects as assigned

    Skills/Education/Experience:

    • Basic accounting principles and procedures
    • Methods and practices of financial recordkeeping
    • Office practices and procedures including basic functions of computer operations, scheduling, job flow
    • 2-3 years recent experience in accounts payable/accounts receivable or general accounting preferred
    • Any combination of training, education, and experience that would provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities

    Compensation:

    The anticipated range for this position is $25 to $30 per hour.  The offer to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to: the type and years of experience; training; practical knowledge; and education.
