    Girls Basketball, Program Lead

    We seek a dynamic and energetic Girls Basketball Program Lead. This position is vital for Pilgrim Athletics, as they will lead the development and implementation of a new Girls Basketball program across multiple levels of our school. As the Program Lead you will oversee the entire Girls Basketball program, including strategic planning, player development, and fostering a positive team culture. This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic individual who is motivated to grow the success of our athletes both on and off the court.     Core Duties and Responsibilities

    •      Serve as head coach to our middle school girls basketball team (Winter 2024-25)
    •      Create a foundational high school program this season with the goal of establishing a Varsity Girls Basketball Team next season (Winter 2025-26)
    •      Organize, coordinate, and lead daily practice sessions - training, motivating, and preparing for competition
    •      Create a safe, welcoming, inclusive, and developmentally appropriate space for all student-athletes
    •      Supervise student-athletes, accompanying them on all trips and activities, as well as supporting team transportation needs to/from games
    •      Communicate team schedules and updates to parents and families
    •      Support basketball programming across the athletic department by establishing a system of play and principles to share across the program
    •      Demonstrate a high degree of ethics, professionalism, community relations, and be a positive role model for all students
    •     Implement athletic department philosophy and adhere to the CIF constitution and bylaws
    •      Support growth and development, including establishing and maintaining partnerships and relationships with the broader girls basketball community
    •     Proactive and open communication with the Director of Athletics on all issues
    •      Remain current on changes in rules, coaching techniques, and technology
    •      Miscellaneous support for the Boys basketball program Position Requirements
    •      Possess comprehensive knowledge of playing techniques, coaching strategies, and the game itself, coupled with prior experience teaching middle and high school students.
    •      Knowledge of CIF rules and regulations governing high school sports in California
    •      Demonstrated ability to work with diverse groups of students, officials, and communities
    •      Basic knowledge of first aid and CPR
    •      Must complete state of CA required background check

    Availability:

    Weekday afternoons, approximately 3:30 - 7:00 PM, starting Oct. 21 to Mar. 21, with some days starting earlier depending on game times. School breaks: Nov. 25 - 29 & Dec. 23 - Jan. 6.

    Compensation: $7000 stipend with bonuses of $500 for making playoffs and $500 for winning a championship
