San Francisco Friends School seeks an experienced Middle School math teacher who is compelled by the school’s mission and committed to progressive math education. Mathematics at Friends is an inquiry-based, conceptual, hands-on program where students grapple with problems and make meaning of the mathematics for themselves. We strive to build the capacity in students to think mathematically, solve problems with confidence, and love mathematics. Teachers are engaged in regular collaboration, curriculum development, and pedagogical reflection to offer the most meaningful, responsive, and student-centered program possible. Candidates should have a strong math background and be invested in collaborating with colleagues and working closely with students.
