    JOB DESCRIPTION:

    This position is responsible for supporting the Assistant Heads of School through maintaining and enacting all administrative needs and duties.

    Duties for this position include, but are not limited to, the following: 

    • Proactively monitors and enacts all administrative duties including, but not limited to maintaining an up-to-date calendar for the AHOSs and scheduling all appointments for each leader and logistical planning around conferences, teleconferences, and travel.
    • Provides daily support to front office staff, covering the front desk when needed.
    • Participates in DEIB initiatives and programs and project manages administrative tasks.
    • Coordinates school events including, but not limited to field trips, parent-teacher conferences, and professional development tracking.
    • Manages the yearly and ongoing ordering and distributing of the academic supplies.
    • Manages field trip, outdoor education, and extended student trips logistics (i.e. arranges and confirms bus transportation, bus invoices, contracts, schedules, etc.).
    • Facilitates Lost and Found process in collaboration with the AHoS and Berkeley Hall Parent Association (BHPA).
    • Manages student lists and office needs for extra-curricular programs: student council, advisory, and house day events.
    • Coordinates school standardized testing in conjunction with the Learning Support Specialist.
    • Schedules the release of report cards per trimester.
    • Updates and tracks purchase orders and reviews budgetary items.
    • Orders and inventories classroom consumables.
    • Processes and orders curriculum materials throughout the year.
    • Reconciles purchases in collaboration with the business office.
    • Supports with special schedules.
    • Supports with substitute teaching needs.
    • Follow guidelines for fulfillment of duties as described in the Employee Handbook.
    • Performs other duties as assigned.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Bachelor’s degree 
    • First Aid certified 
    • CPR certified 
    • Ability to multi-task 
    • Previous experience in education preferred 
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills 
    • Ability to maintain effective working relationships 
    • Mastery and proficient use of Microsoft Office, Google Suites
    • Mastery knowledge and proficient use of MacBooks, iPads, and associated applications and technologies
    • Previous experience as an administrative assistant in a school or with children is preferred.
    • Commitment to professional growth and to high professional standards
    • Candidate must love working with children.

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

    • Regularly sits, talks and listens 
    • Be able to occasionally lift up to 50 lbs. 
    • Regularly uses close and distance vision 
    • Works at desk and computer screen for extended periods of time 
    • Turns, bends and reaches 
    • Works in traditional, climate-controlled office environment 
    • Ability to walk 60-acre campus

    Terms of Employment:

    This is an exempt position. Competitive compensation commensurate with experience. Benefits package includes, but is not limited to, medical, dental, vision, basic life insurance, long-term disability, and a retirement plan (with up to 7% employer match). The regular workday is 7:30 am–4:00 pm. Occasional early morning, evening, and some weekend work is required.
