COMPENSATION: $31.00-$38.00
Black Pine Circle School is a K–8 independent school in Berkeley, California. For almost 50 years, we have inspired lifelong learners through an inquiry-based Socratic education that places equal emphasis on academics and the arts. Our Lower School (grades K–5) supports approximately 125 students, and our Upper School (grades 6–8) supports approximately 180 students.

POSITION OVERVIEW:
The IT support associate role will provide high-level technical support and guidance to the School’s constituents. They will support and troubleshoot technical issues with faculty, staff, students, and families along with other day-to-day technical support needs. They will assist in developing best practices for improved processes and reliable technology solutions. .
RESPONSIBILITIES:

Provide L1 end-user support for software, hardware, copiers, printers, and other services

Monitor help desk tickets and resolve technology issues

Manage and maintain our JAMF Pro environment for Mac and iOS devices

Manage and maintain our Google Workspace environment for Chromebooks

Maintain regular software update cadence

Operate basic network services such as phones and Wi-Fi connections

Set up, maintain, troubleshoot, and update Mac, iOS, and Chrome devices

Track inventory of hardware, licenses, and other IT assets

Create complete, accurate, and appropriate documentation

Assist teachers, students, and administrators with daily technology use

Create tutorials focused on classroom, office, and school-wide technology initiatives

Work with external vendors in the support of hardware, software, and other IT projects

Review, evaluate, and recommend solutions for projects requiring specialized hardware and software

Provide A/V support for classrooms and school events (theater, productions)

Assist director of technology with developing long-term technology plans

Assist with managing and maintaining the 1:1 program

Demonstrate experience and willingness to push into classrooms for technical support

Provide technology support for evening and weekend events, as needed.
SCHOOL-WIDE DUTIES
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

Bachelor's degree preferred; relevant experience will be considered in lieu of degree

1+ years of experience working in a related field (preferably in a school environment)

Ability to prioritize tasks based on department standards

Provide excellent technical, troubleshooting, and problem solving skills

Knowledge of differing educational and management platforms such as Google Workspace, JAMF, Clever, Freshdesk a plus!

COMPENSATION
The anticipated base compensation the school reasonably expects to pay candidates for the position of IT Support Associate is $31.00 to $38.00 per hour depending on factors such as experience and education as well as the internal pay equity of current employees.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
Required to lift and carry up to a maximum of 50 lbs., in a correct manner consistent with the appropriate training provided by the School. Reaching with hands and arms, climb stairs, bend, stoop, twist, lift, reach, push, pull, grasp, balance, kneel occasionally. Use of telephone, computer, copier, and other office equipment. Required to sit (or stand) for prolonged periods of time while operating a computer for approximately 6-8 hours daily. Repetitive motion for typing and other keystroke needs.
