    POSITION SUMMARY:

    Pinewood School is seeking a full-time Upper Campus Math Teacher (grades 7-12) for the 2026-27 school year starting in August 2026.  We are looking for an educator who is passionate about teaching mathematics and will be a strong contributor in the department. 

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

          Teaches math classes that range from Algebra 1 to AP Calculus BC and AT electives

          Plans and implements the curriculum for the classroom (average class size is 12 students); sets and grades assessments

          Works collaboratively with colleagues to foster and support student learning

          Communicates effectively with parents regarding students’ needs and progress

          Performs some advisory, supervisory and chaperoning duties

          Attends faculty and department meetings; participates in school events

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

          Ability to spend long hours sitting, using computers and office equipment

          Ability to climb stairs, sit, hear and talk

          Ability to lift up to 20 lbs. occasionally

    QUALIFICATIONS:

          Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics or related field is required; teaching credential and/or Master’s degree in Mathematics or a related field is desired

          Minimum of two years of classroom experience in teaching junior high or high school mathematics; five or more years of experience teaching at an independent school is desired 

          Demonstrated knowledge of a variety of teaching techniques, including but not limited to traditional, explorative, project or technology-based instruction 

          Must be comfortable using or learning to use iPads in the classroom

          Competent in graphing calculator use across all class levels

          Familiarity with Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging concepts in order to support all students on campus

    COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:

    Salary range is $86, 000 - $152,000 annually and is based on education and years of teaching experience. Pinewood offers comprehensive benefits to employees.
