We are seeking an experienced, hands-on Human Resources (HR) Manager to lead the human resources operations for San Francisco Friends School, an independent K-8 school in the San Francisco Bay Area. This role is responsible for payroll processing, benefits and leave of absence administration, recruitment and onboarding, employee relations, compliance and HR policy development. The ideal candidate is a people-focused leader with strong organizational skills, attention to detail, the ability to independently problem solve and move projects forward with limited guidance, and a passion for fostering a positive workplace culture.
The HR Manager will work closely with the CFOO to develop and implement HR operational excellence that support the institution’s mission. Candidates must have demonstrated experience in HR operations management, knowledge of CA employment laws, and proficiency and technical expertise in HR systems. A Bachelor’s degree and/or PHR/SPHR or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Experience working in the educational sector and familiarity with San Francisco employment regulations is desired.
