    Full-Time IB Math Teacher MYP DP 

    The Lycée Français de San Francisco is currently seeking qualified applicants for U.S. Mathematics teacher for the 2025-2026 school year.

    Job Description:

    The MYP Maths Teacher is responsible for fostering a passion for Mathematics in our students and for working collaboratively with members of all subject teams to develop engaging and inspirational learning experiences. The successful candidate will be expected to teach mostly IB MYP (and IB DP the following year).

    The preferred candidate will:

    • Have knowledge of, and experience with, the educational philosophies, assessment requirements and practices of the International Baccalaureate or willingness to learn.

    • Have work experience with students ages 11-18 years

    • Have a high level of English Proficiency

    • Have the ability to plan, deliver and reflect on curriculum and lessons which will stimulate, motivate and engage students’ learning and agency

    • Have the ability to teach to ensure inclusion through universal design and differentiated instruction

    • Be capable of instilling confidence and facilitate students’ understanding and application of mathematical concepts

    • Have the ability to work collaboratively with teachers, students, parents, and administrators

    • Have strong organizational, leadership, and communication skills

    • Be organized and reliable

    • Engage actively and enthusiastically to contribute to a positive school environment

    Requirements:

    • Have a Bachelor's degree in Education; or a related field (Master's degree preferred); or multi-subject teaching credential

    • Have teaching experience, preferably in an IB school or with IB programs

    • Have a minimum of 3 years of experience successfully teaching math in Secondary school

    General School Duties and Responsibilities

    • Abide by all Lycée safety protocols

    • Treat all students, parents, and colleagues with dignity and respect

    • Attend all staff meetings, in-service meetings, and training sessions

    • Participate in professional development activities to enhance teaching skills and knowledge

    • Participate in school field trips and Lycée global learning program 

    • Monitor and evaluate student progress

    • Communicating regularly with students, parents, guardians, and advisors regarding student progress

    • Ensure a safe and inclusive learning environment for all students.

    • Effectively manage class discipline, using positive rather than negative methods as much as possible

    • Use the LMS (Learning Management System) to post homework, tests, grades, and resources materials

    • Punctual presence in all classes and meetings and in the completion of all duties, including posting homework, correcting returning graded work, posting grades

    • Participation in school events including, but not limited to:

      • Open Houses / LFSF Forward

      • Pedagogical Councils

      • Parent-Teacher conferences

      • Class Councils

    • Monitor and assess student progress toward the expectations of the IB MYP/DP exams and requirements.

    • Familiarity with technology and innovative teaching strategies.

    • Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet the needs of diverse learners.

    • Culturally competent and committed to equity and inclusion.

    • Candidates with 3 to 5 years related experience in the education field can anticipate an annual salary, ranging from: $76,710.00 for 18 hours of teaching per week to $79,858.00 (Teaching Scale 1) in the current salary grid. The salary offered to the successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to the type and years of experience in the job, type and years of experience in the industry, education, etc. LFSF offers a negotiated salary range.

    The Lycée Français de San Francisco is a French Immersion College Preparatory School in the San Francisco Bay Area. We provide a challenging educational environment based on the French national curriculum and the International Baccalaureate framework, enriched by English classes from PS-12th grade. Our curriculum is designed to provide students with a well-structured, well-assimilated body of general knowledge while encouraging the development of analytical and critical thinking skills. Our students earn an American high school diploma, as well as prepare for the French Baccalauréat or the DP IB, which qualifies them for both American and European Universities.
