    Viewpoint School is currently seeking a Teacher in the Primary School. The Teacher in the Primary School is responsible for all aspects of creating a dynamic learning environment for students.

    Primary Functions:

    • Prepare materials and classrooms for class activities
    • Adapt teaching methods and instructional materials to meet students’ varying needs and interests
    • Plan and conduct activities for a balanced program of instruction, demonstration, and work time that provides students with opportunities to observe, question, and investigate
    • Instruct students individually and in groups, using various teaching methods such as lectures, discussions, and demonstrations
    • Establish clear objectives for all lessons, units, and projects, and communicate those objectives to students
    • Prepares lessons, activities and observes in order to evaluate students’ progress
    • Meet with parents and guardians to discuss their children’s progress, and to determine their priorities for their children and their resource needs
    • Provide a variety of materials and resources for children to explore, manipulate and use, both in learning activities and in imaginative play
    • Collaborate with other teachers and administrators in the development, evaluation, and revision of early childhood school programs
    • Attend professional meetings, educational conferences, and teacher training workshops in order to maintain and improve professional competence
    • Plans and supervises outside classroom and playground activities

    Experience, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities Required:  

    • Bachelors’ degree and minimum of three years’ experience as teacher at elementary school level
    • Must demonstrate competency with basic word processing, spreadsheet, data base, internet and computer functions
    • Ability to use basic office equipment
    • Ability to communicate effectively with all constituents in a school environment
    • Position requires adaptability, analyzing, assessing, calculating, decision making, dependability, good judgment, reading, memorizing, social skills, speaking, multitasking, and writing
    • In addition to the position described above, you agree to perform other duties and responsibilities as shall be assigned by Head of School or other supervisor


    Compensation: Anticipated compensation is $65,000 - $85,000 depending on experience.
