Job Title: Dean of Students
Reports to: Assistant Head of School
Status: Full-time/12 months
FLSA Status: Exempt
Pay Scale: $115,000 - $130,000 and commensurate with experience _____________________________________________________________________________________________
Job Summary
The Dean of Students works closely with Senior Administration in the planning, coordination, and support of all activities in the area of student services.
The Dean of Students has primary responsibility for and supervision of the advisors, student life issues, student activities, and the co-curricular program. Specifically, supervision of the grade level advising coordinators, advisors, nurse, attendance, student life issues, and student activities. The Dean of Students works closely with the Academic Dean, College Counselors, Student Life Team, and Student Support Team, demonstrating a commitment to the RSHM mission and core values of Marymount High School.
Duties and Responsibilities

Oversees the development and supervision of a four-year advisory wellness program

Oversees the development and supervision of the School Counselor.

Oversees the development and supervision of ASB student activities, including co-curricular programs, student assemblies, and school communities.

Oversees student conduct and maintains student discipline records, in addition to establishing and administering the school’s policies relating to the health system, discipline, uniforms, attendance, and the Honor Council Team

Develops and implements the Parent/Student Handbook with the Administration.

As the Director of Honor Council, manages and keeps meticulous records of the student justice system (attendance, detentions, and progressive discipline policy) and oversees the Honor Council Team

Oversees all graduation operations

Oversees Summer School (attendance, daily classroom needs, etc.)

Works with the Academic Dean to collaborate on Academic Counsel related to student experience

Oversees the BSBW program with the support of the Student Life Team and Admissions.

Serves on the Emergency Action Team, overseeing the planning, coordination, and execution of required drills to ensure compliance with the school’s Emergency Action Plan certification standards.

Manages and monitors campus supervision daily, including breaks and lunches, dances, games, activities, and buses.

Provides crisis intervention and risk assessment for triage and referral purposes.

Supports the Scope and Sequence for Human Development, Wellness, SEL & Sex Education

Supports the admissions process by representing the school at admissions events, conducting interviews, and serving as an active member of the admissions committee.

Complies with all Marymount High School policies, procedures, and quality standards as well as safety and environmental regulations.

Performs additional assignments per the supervisor’s direction
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree; advanced degree preferred, 3+ years of experience in education and proven success as part of an administrative team. Possesses strong interpersonal and conflict resolution skills to make sound decisions and demonstrate leadership. Has working knowledge and awareness of relevant laws and policies related to student behavior and risk management.
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, move about, with constant walk around campus. While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works in outside weather conditions. The employee may be required to travel in school-owned or leased vehicles while supervising students. This position will require weekend, evening, and school events.
